Promoting LID in the Corridor

The BIA has completed an important study of stormwater management methods in the Corridor.  The “Promoting LID in the Corridor” report includes the latest methods to meet the requirements of stormwater and groundwater management in developing land in the Corridor.

The report is timely as the City investigates assessing a new stormwater fee to all Corridor property owners.  LID methods aim to reduce the amount of runoff and since amount of runoff is one way the City is considering calculating the amount of the fee the LID report may help owners reduce the annual fee.  LID methods can be constructed on existing developed property and incorporated into the planning and approval of new development.

Another purpose of the report is to advise Corridor businesses on a new business opportunity.  Landscaping companies and material supply companies will see new market opportunities as LID methods become more widespread in the Corridor and Ottawa.

Take a look at the report and give the BIA a call if you would like more information or assistance in planning LID projects on your property.
