Business Priorities in the Area

The Carp Road Corridor is Ottawa’s largest light industry business park.  The City’s contribution to business success in the Corridor = business success in Ottawa.

The next Annual General Meeting will be held 7:30am November 22 at Irish Hills.  The business association has been gathering input from area businesses and property owners on issues and priorities to improve their business opportunity in the area.  Many of those are actions by the City which will support economic development.

  • Advocate that municipal water / sewer be provided to the business area;
  • Advocate for public transportation to service the business area;
  • Work to have the City restore the planned 4 lanes project for Carp Road south of 417;
  • Help the City plan for area road and ditch maintenance by informing them of business input on needs;
  • Participate in area land development to help ensure continuity of Corridor planning and technical information among City staff and development professionals;

Other activities supported by members include:

  • Promote awareness of the business area to help attract talent;
  • Introduce member businesses to member businesses where there may be B2B opportunity;
  • Provide opportunities for members to meet, socialize and share their own experiences.
